Cryptoeconomic Systems recognizes the speed at which blockchain research moves and changes, and we are acutely aware of the value of disseminating information quickly. To that end, we’ve set up an Article Preview server to fill a gap in the publication process.
Preprint servers (SSRN, ArXiv, etc.) perform a very important role in the academic community, hosting full manuscript drafts before they are peer reviewed, often even prior to submission with a journal. But what happens once a paper has been submitted, reviewed, and accepted? Unfortunately, there’s often a lag between peer-review/acceptance, and the actual publication. Much of this time is spent doing minor copyediting, typesetting, and other formatting—things that are necessary for publication, but completely independent of the ideas and conclusions contained in each paper.
The Cryptoeconomic Systems Article Preview server is an attempt to mitigate this inefficiency. We believe that the ideas are the important component of each manuscript, and ideas that have been vetted via peer-reviewed deserve to be shared as soon as they’re validated in order to offer readers earlier access to the underlying data and conclusions. This server hosts papers that are in this very specific state—not fully ready to publish, but vetted beyond what can be found on a preprint server. We suspect that this simple act of granting a few extra weeks for ideas to percolate will have exponential benefits down the line, especially over—eventually—hundreds of papers.
This service is optional. Authors who wish to place their peer-reviewed and accepted work here may do so, but do not have the obligation. Additionally, some authors may choose to pull their work prior to publication. Thus, this server may or may not accurately reflect the contents of the forthcoming issue.
By viewing the contents of this server, you are confirming that you understand the following:
These documents have been peer-reviewed and accepted into Cryptoeconomic Systems, but have not been edited (or have been very lightly edited). Some of the content, including substantive content, may change prior to publication. Additionally, errors may be discovered and corrected prior to formal publication
These manuscripts are provided for educational purposes only. Please exercise careful judgement when citing, and include the date of access. Citations are provided with each manuscript. For citation questions, please contact [email protected]
This server is primarily intended to host manuscripts that will be published in a forthcoming issue of Cryptoeconomic Systems
